ELDERBERRY CRÉME HONEY
Elderberry Crème Honey brings together two ingredients with a long shared history in natural food culture: raw honey and elderberry — both valued for their rich nutritional profiles, and together, for a flavor combination that's genuinely excellent.
The elderberry component is the star from a flavor standpoint: tart, deeply berry-forward, rich with the concentrated intensity of dark fruit rather than light berry sweetness. making this one of Black Barn's most visually distinctive jars. The tartness is real, not muted — this is not a sweet berry honey. It's a complex, slightly bracing fruit crème that rewards people who like their flavors to have some edge.
In daily use, it's exceptional stirred into morning oatmeal with sliced almonds, spread on sourdough toast with a thin layer of ricotta, or taken directly by the spoonful as a functional morning ritual. It works as a glaze for duck breast or lamb chops, where the berry tartness counterbalances the richness of the meat. Elderberries are among the most antioxidant-dense berries known — this is the honey where flavor and wellness intent converge.
